Social Life 2.0: Plazes Tells You 'Where It's At'
Plazes announced the official launch of its service. Plazes now offers its member community new opportunities to blend microblogging with actual physical presence information. "Where are my friends, what's happening at my favorite place, and who will be with you tomorrow at the same location?" With Plazes, users can stay on top of the activities and plans of friends and family alike.

With the official launch, Plazes introduces the new option of 'Where will you be' to its already rich capabilities. This allows Plazes users to easily coordinate future plans and activities. At plazes.com, members can see at a glance where their friends are 'plazed' and what¡¯s happening at their location. They can also send a short message via cell phone or Internet and report live from their current location anywhere in the world.

Plazes is not only about your whereabouts but also about your interests. With the new group function, geographically-close users with common interests can easily get together as well as stay on top of group activities with specific channels they can create.

All this unique functionality can be integrated with other platforms as well: users can easily and automatically publish their ¡¯Plazes Trazes¡® on MySpace and Facebook as well as their blogs.

"Plazes works with different media - it is the only location-aware service which can be used worldwide and with any carrier," noted Plazes co-founder Felix Petersen. "Plazes is available immediately for all users to explore and experience firsthand the power of merging the online and real-world aspects of their life into a single source of information."
