Google cited by Korean government for violating Fair Trade Agreement
On 26th, Korea Fair Trade Commission (Chairman Ohseung Kwon) decided to impose corrective measures on Google for violating part of its business agreement.

Google, the world's biggest online search engine received injunction order from the KFTC as it found a illegality in part of provision in Google's business agreement.

The order from the KFTC was instigated by a domestic Korean internet firm. It claims that Google US and AdSense unfairly terminated its business agreement between the two, citing fraudulent clicks.

The cited violations by the Commission include terminating the agreement unilaterally by Google between the AdSense and Korean Internet firm, failure to ensure payments, no rights to appeal from advertisers on method of payment assessment.

Official from Google Korea stated, "As Google considers Korea's importance, the decision from the Commission will be dealt accordingly as soon as possible. We are carefully reviewing the stipulation with team of Korean lawyers to determine validity to the order and will act accordingly."

High number of domestic Korean Advertisers unhappy with Google AdSense
The provision in question with the order was the subject of criticism from many domestic site administrators ever since claims to fraudulent clicks surfaced.

Ciewoo Lee who runs the internet vacation travel agency 'TourStar' said, "Many advertisers complain actions of Google AdSense, there are many unhappy advertisers with Google's one-sided terminations especially because it's not providing clear data to backup its actions."

Beside Google, online keyword search, Overture also was under the same criticism for unfairly terminating the ads.

Overture, under section 6 of its agreement, reserves rights to terminate anybody who slanders or abuse its site. And there were some cases where advertisers got dumped by the Overture for raising complaints.

"The latest decision applies and serve as indication to any, including overseas firms who conduct business in Korea, must practice under the fair trade laws and any unfair provisions in agreements will be enforced with strictest measure to prevent disservice." KFTC stated.
