Google and Daum Partnership Talks in Keyword Ads Business Close to Reality.
Google, the leading U.S. Web search service provider is likely to join hands with Daum Communications, according to industry sources. Some are even making prediction of mergers and acquisitions between the two with rumor that Daum Communications could end its business ties with Overture in the advertisements business.
Meanwhile, on 9th, Google has named Namu Communications (www.namukorea.com ), a 100% Daum invested subsidiary as their official Korean reseller.
Google said in a statement that it chose the Namu Communications for its accumulated know-how in online ads marketing along with their Search Engine Marketer, SEM and the high-quality service it has provided to clients.
Google¡¯s search engine Ad ¡®AdWords¡¯ (pay per click service) is targeted to reach its worldwide users. The Ad appears right next to related search results.
The announcement of Google's official partnership in Korea to Namu Communications was only second time ever. First deal was with Emnet (www.emnet.co.kr).
Details about Daum's departure with Overture were not disclosed "No comment at this time. When it¡¯s right, we will make the statement." Daum official Jaewoong Lee said.
Overture also stated "Presently, we are still in talks and have not reached agreement on extending a contract yet" But we should know for sure by the end of this year when the contract expires.
