E-shopping malls in rush to get UCC
Naver's e- shopping mall (known to Koreans as Jeeseeg shopping; meaning smart shopping) product comparison service just got better matched by Daum Communications. Daum is using UCC as an added convenience feature on its shopping mall to lure more potential buyers.

Daum's new e-mall 'Shopping How' (http://shopping.daum.net) offers complete one stop shopping experience. It's only one that is providing trust worthy UCC (User Created Contents) related product feedbacks and price comparisons as a combined service.

To provide price comparisons, Daum made a strategic move to form an affiliation with a shopping search site danawa.com (like US' BizRate.com or pricegrabber.com). The danawa currently handles around 1,300 shopping sites and has 9million product information database. With this tie, Daum now operate its 'Shopping How' product search service.

Daum's new shopping search service 'Shopping How' provides ¡ãUCC shopping guide from all kinds of cafe, blog, knowledge base and bulletin board ¡ã Special digital mania corner which categorically provides latest and hottest digital product information (cell phones, PDA etc.) ¡ã latest fashion, handbags, cosmetics.

Head of Daum's search engine center So-young Choi said, "The significance of the 'shopping how' is in trust worthy UCC. Having the actual product feedbacks are key to successful internet shopping. We plan to continue affiliation with product search sites to bring reliable information to our shoppers."

Naver, expanding its shopping mall coverage
Naver¡¯s shopping search mall has been offering UCC service too. However, Daum's new partner danawa.com has only limited number of shopping malls currently, Naver explained.

Naver pointed out that most of major shopping malls belong to its shopping search, providing added convenience to the users.

Providing most accurate product information is priority one. We will continue to better search technology and provide most accurate information, Naver stressed. Also Naver plans to expand its shopping mall operations and products to reach more potential customers to expand the customer base.

Naver's affiliate stressed, "We will react accordingly with how Daum's 'Shopping How' plays out. But to be successful in shopping service, first you will need to attain larger customer base."
