Haansoft Supports Open Type Documentation Standard
Haansoft, a representative Korean software company that has pursued Open Source, decides on its policy that gives an active support for open type documentation standard.

On Thursday 13, it announced that it planed to support not only 'ODF'(Open Document Format), the standard of International Organization for Standardization (IOS), but also 'Open XML', promoted by ECMA International, in its next version of Hangul software.

In the next version of Hangul software for Window, which will be published in the end of 2009, the read/write of Open XML file as well as ODF becomes possible. It is also designed to improve the compatibility with MS Office in order for corporate clients to use Haansoft Office more easily.

By supporting internationally recognized open type documentation standards in its new version of Office, Haansoft plans to cultivate its competitive power and lead the standardization of domestic office documentation.

On the other hand, Haansoft frames a plan to establish a substantial standard of documentation that is able to express 100% of contents used in Korea and Asian countries, definitely different from documentations written in English speaking countries. This plan is based on a conclusion that the ODF standard of ISO is not enough to express diagram-based documents which are frequently used in enterprises and government.

For this purpose, Haansoft has been actively participating in the process of setting up state document standardization. It also has been trying to reflect Korean type of ODF in the ODF, the international standard of ISO.
