Continuing advancement of Multi media functioning cell phones with music, video, camera functions that requires huge amount of cell phone's internal memory has led to eventual release of 8GB cell phone.
The latest released '8GB Super music phone (SCH-B570)' from Samsung has the world's largest, 8GB HDD storage that can bring reality of 'multi media world' in palm of a hand.
Besides the big buzz on the gigantic storage space, it can also hold over 1600 songs (4MB per song), 16 PMP movies (400MB each) and over 20,000 pictures (300K per shot) which make the world's largest (memory) multimedia phone.
What's more, it even comes with 5.1-channel stereo sound, built in equalizer, 3D virtual sound making it truly worthy of being called 'Super music phone'. The 5.1-channel audio allows the user to control 5 different speakers individually to set desired virtual sound effects to mimic home-theater quality. Also the audio equalizer allows even more fine tuning if necessary.
This phone also comes with first ever motion sensing activation features. When the alarm goes off it can be snoozed with just by shaking the phone with auto repeat (morning wake call with motion recognition snooze) that user can preset. The motion activated command features also work with speed dialing, changing menu screen among other convenient added features.
The phone also has a built in 'golf manager' which provides the latest information on the golf course and availability with golf log to help manage one¡¯s score too. Moreover, if the user connects to GPS (surcharge service) it will allow actual calculation of distance of the cup and the player for better T-shot, like having a private caddy.
In addition, 8GB Super music phone also feature S-DMB with PIP from PMP movie downloads, psychic test, dictionary, motion recognition games with other built in features.
The '8GB Super music phone' will debut through SKT with price tag of $800.
The rumor of coming huge mega storage handsets began from last year. The predecessor model SGH-i300s with 4GB memory in March this year, Nokia's N91, Toshiba's W41T all use 4-Gig HD drives.
Samsung Electronics had released domestically the world's first ever 1.5GB HDD phone (SPH-V5400) in December 2004, 3GB multimedia phone (SPH-V7900) in October 2005 and followed by 4GB Super music phone (SGH-i300s) earlier this March.
There were also 1GB 'Music-stik phone (SCH-S4300)' with built in flash memory, and 'Slim-Giga music phone (SCH-V940)', built in hard disk and flash memory led the multimedia handset market. The flash memory with its mobility and attractive storage sizes are naturally bringing more demands and currently, HDD are edging out the top place in terms of price and storage capacity in the market.
An affiliate form Samsung said, "As we anticipate even more growth in mega memory cell phone market with highly developing HSDPA, Wi-Bro and high speed wireless internet usages, we will continued to putout larger mega memory and top of the line multimedia handsets."
