Samsung Electronics leads North American market with 3 million pixels camera
Samsung Electronics is leading the U.S. camera phone market with industry¡¯s first release of high image quality 3 Mega pixels camera phone.

Samsung¡¯s latest product (Model: SCH-A990) has over 3 million Mega pixels and comes with swing-folder design was released through Verizon. The phone comes with slim folder systems that can easily transform hidden LCD with simple swivel action allowing point and shoot camera action.

In addition to 3.2 mega pixels and Bluetooth capability it comes with video recording (more than 1-hour), auto focusing, PictBridge for printer function, TV-out, and card recognition with host of other features.

Current U.S. cell phone market only sells under 1-Mega pixel camera phones. However, starting this year high-Mega pixels cameras will hit the market and should see the rise in demand. According to market research from Gartner analysts, sales of high Mega pixel camera above the 1-Mega pixels were mere 4.5 percent last year. However, for this year, it forecasted for rapid growth of sales to 28.5 percent overall.

Up to now, highest Mega pixels phone camera sold in U.S. was Samsung¡¯s industry first 2-Mega pixels (SCH-A800) in May 2005. The Samsung Electronics released 9.8mm ultra-thin phone in earlier May with First HSDPA phone (SGH-ZX20) in June followed that by this latest release of #-Mega pixels swivel phone.

Samsung Electronics president, Ki-Tae Lee said, ¡°By utilizing Samsung¡¯s latest high tech and innovative designs we will continue releasing next generation HSDPA phone, ultra slim phone, High Mega pixels phone with array of high-end products to lead the US major markets.¡±
